Laboratory Installation Requirements for O/N/H Analyzers
Oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen analyzers are sensitive instruments. Getting the installation conditions right — environment, gases, power and space — is the first step to stable, repeatable results.
Environment
- Keep the lab clean and dry, away from direct sunlight and strong electromagnetic interference.
- Maintain room temperature at 10–30 °C and relative humidity below 80%.
Gas supply
- Carrier gas: high-purity helium (99.999%, 0.3–0.5 MPa). Purity is critical for low-level oxygen and nitrogen.
- Power gas: nitrogen or purified compressed air (0.3–0.5 MPa) for pneumatic valves and the pulse furnace.
Power and grounding
- Provide a stable, dedicated power supply and proper grounding to avoid interference.
- Check the water-cooled transformer connection for O/N/H models that use high-current heating.
Space and layout
- Allow clearance around the instrument for loading samples, maintenance and gas-cylinder access.
- Keep the electronic balance, standards and consumables close to the analyzer for a smooth workflow.
A proper installation reduces drift and failure, and helps the analyzer deliver consistent O/N/H data from day one.
